KTP-213: De-palletizing, robotic handling and re-palletizing of KTP containers

Feb 3, 2023

This automated line has been developed for handling and processing KTP containers used in the pharmaceutical industry.

The system ensures that the containers are transported in an orderly fashion to a depalletizing station, where they are emptied layer by layer. Four Stäubli robots, programmed by InduTech, then handle the nests and tubs, transferring them to the customer’s temporary storage and sterilization facilities.

Once the process is complete, the robots reposition the components in the same order as when they arrived, to enable repalletizing in line with pharmaceutical traceability requirements.

As part of this project, InduTech was responsible for the complete design of the conveyor systems, the gripper gantries, and the programming of the PLC and robots.

One of the main challenges was to meet the stringent requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. The choice of materials, the hygienic design of equipment and the application of good manufacturing practices were integrated into the early stages of the project to meet the quality standards expected by the customer.
