ROB-262: Collaborative robot for aeronautical components

Jun 5, 2026

Replacement of a Kawasaki robot by a FANUC collaborative robot during the modernization of a robotized cell for the aeronautics industry.

For our customer in the aeronautics sector, we replaced an industrial robot that had reached the end of its life with a latest-generation FANUC collaborative robot.

The main stages of the project involved an in-depth analysis of the existing installation, the design of a new electrical cabinet, the production of a POC in the workshop to validate the technical choices, then installation and commissioning on site within a short timeframe to minimize the impact on production.

The operator interface has also been completely modernized with the installation of a new HMI touch screen. The new interface provides a clear view of machine status and automatic cycle progress, while facilitating set-up, maintenance and diagnostic operations, thanks to dedicated pages for manual control of the various axes and actuators. A statistics page has also been developed to monitor the performance and use of the system.

This project was also an opportunity to improve the production environment by rethinking the fairing of an automatic tapping machine. These modifications limit oil splashes during tapping operations, while integrating a pneumatic access hatch giving the robot direct access to the machine’s vice.

This modernization enables the customer to secure its production tool while benefiting from a more recent, more reliable, more ergonomic and easier-to-maintain solution.

We wish this new robot a long life and thank our customer for his confidence.
